Frequently asked questions

Reports & requests
Do I have to create an account to report something?+
No — you can report anonymously. But signing in lets you track requests, get status updates, and view your history. We recommend at least providing an email so we can follow up if we need more details.
What if my issue is on private property?+
For property maintenance, overgrown lots, junk vehicles, or zoning concerns, file a Code or Property Violation report. The City will inspect and notify the property owner. We can't repair private property, but we can require compliance.
The issue is dangerous right now — what should I do?+
For immediate threats to life or property — fire, downed power lines, gas leaks, active flooding — call 9-1-1. For urgent but non-life-threatening issues like a water main break, call the non-emergency line: 410-263-7837, available 24/7.
How long do most reports take to resolve?+
It depends on the issue. Missed trash pickup is usually next day. Potholes 3–5 days. Streetlights 5–7 days. Tree removal can take 2–4 weeks depending on permits required. Every category card shows the typical timeframe.
Can I report problems on county or state roads?+
If a road is maintained by Anne Arundel County or the State of Maryland, submit a report and we'll route it. Or contact County 311 or MD State Highway Administration directly for fastest service.
Can I see what others have reported?+
Yes — our transparency map above shows all active and recently-resolved reports across the city. Personal information is never shown publicly.
